The Doctor needed something to improve under braking so after morning warm-up, his crew took a risk with a setup he hadn’t tried over the weekend and he was able to hold on to third place behind the Repsol Hondas.

I had the setup yesterday where I was not so bad. But I had the problem especially in braking. I was not strong enough in braking. This morning I never tried the setup of the race. This morning a little bit something similar. Unfortunately I was in the traffic and I was able to do just four or five laps but I had a good feeling especially in braking. So for this reason we decide because it’s more risk.

“But considering that I was behind and I have to attack in braking, we decided to modify and it was the right choice because my bike was very good.

“I understand from the beginning so I start to push. It was also a good race. I enjoyed it because I was able to overtake before Dani and after Jorge. Good battle with Jorge. But from behind I understand that I was a little bit faster.

“So I think that I have to push the maximum to try to take a gap from Jorge. But after with Dani it was difficult but I think that the best part of the race for me was the moment that Dani overtake me.

“I put the hook in the seat and I go with him because I know that it can help me a lot for take distance from Jorge. Dani ride very well. At the one moment I start to think that I can try to fight with him for the second place. That is very important because if I can put Dani between me and Jorge that is also more important. So after I don’t have the problem to decide if risk to overtake or not because he was too strong.

“Yes, this results is very important because I extend three points on Jorge but especially I arrive in front of him in the race. This is important to have a small advantage before the end of the first part of the championship. I’m happy but I know that the battle will be very, very hard in the second half.”
